Keeping Projects on Track: Allyed Gateway at IBEW 2026

Allyed Gateway participated in International Built Environment Week (IBEW) 2026, presenting a session on Keeping Projects on Track: The Legal Playbook for Change, Delay and AI-Enabled Delivery as part of the Society of Project Managers (SPM) Learning Series on 3 September 2026.
Our Joint Managing Director, Ming Ming LOOI, curated and chaired the session, alongside Senior Director Edwin LEE and Ivan CHIA, Partner at Accura.
The discussion explored how decisions made during project delivery can significantly shape the outcome of subsequent disputes. From variations, delays and interface risks to contractual notices, record-keeping and decisions on suspension or termination, effective project management requires both sound commercial judgment and careful contract administration.
Drawing on practical experience in construction and infrastructure disputes, the session emphasised three essential principles:
Preserve your rights. Preserve your evidence. Preserve your options.
By the time a project reaches adjudication, arbitration or litigation, many of the decisions that determine the parties’ respective positions have already been made. Clear instructions, timely notices, contemporaneous records and properly documented decisions can make the difference between protecting an entitlement and losing it.
The session also examined the growing role of artificial intelligence in project delivery, including its potential to improve efficiency while reinforcing the importance of verification, confidentiality and human oversight.
Allyed Gateway thanks the Society of Project Managers for organising the session, and the Building and Construction Authority and RX Global for bringing together the built environment community at IBEW 2026.
Our central message remains: effective dispute avoidance begins long before a dispute arises.
